Marry van den Heuvel-Eibrink

I am a pediatric oncologist and responsible for the kidney cancer care program at the Princess Máxima Center. This program ensures that children with different types of kidney cancer receive the best possible care. We currently do this through the UMBRELLA protocol, which is used in more than 32 countries across Europe, Asia and South America, and for which I serve as an international co-chair.

To further improve outcomes for children, with as few side effects as possible, my research group studies kidney cancer and new treatment approaches. My group also investigates early and late effects of cancer treatment, including fertility, hearing loss, bone problems and predictors of heart, vascular and kidney disease.
