Late effects
Everyone feels tired from time to time. This is normal, especially when there is an obvious cause—such as a busy period at school or work, or after physical activity.
Fatigue after cancer is different from normal tiredness. It is more intense and does not improve with rest.
Childhood cancer and its treatment can make you feel very tired, but in many cases your energy returns afterward. Sometimes, however, the fatigue lasts for months or even years.
When you feel tired all the time and rest doesn’t help, it can start to affect your daily life and emotional well-being.
On this page, you can read more about fatigue. There is also a short video explaining what we do to support you if you experience fatigue after cancer.
