Stephanie Smetsers

My name is Stephanie Smetsers, and I am a pediatric oncologist in the solid tumors department. I mainly treat children with bone and soft tissue cancers (sarcomas) and germ cell tumors. I also see children with a hereditary predisposition to cancer in our tumor predisposition clinic. These children have check-ups several times a year to detect cancer at an early stage.

The long-term and close contact with children and their parents during and after treatment is one of the aspects of my work that I value most.
