At the Princess Máxima Center, the treatment of children with a tumor in the central nervous system is provided by a multidisciplinary team within the neuro-oncology department. As a pediatric neurosurgeon, my work focuses on the surgical treatment of brain tumors or tumors in or around the spinal cord. This is part of the multidisciplinary treatment plan that is created for each child before treatment begins.
