About me
I am one of the founders of the Máxima Center, and I spend a large part of my time working in the executive committee of the Máxima Center. In this role, I am responsible for collaborating with many hospitals abroad. The goal of these partnerships is to help ensure that children with cancer can receive good care in other parts of the world as well.
I hold several international leadership positions, including serving as president of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP), the global association for childhood cancer specialists.
As a pediatric oncologist, I specialize in treating children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and I conduct research to develop better treatments for this group of children.
