Muriel Bakker

My name is Muriel Bakker, and I work with great dedication as a nurse specialist in the neuro-oncology department. It is a privilege to support children and their parents during such a vulnerable time. Together with my colleagues, I aim to make the intensive treatment as manageable as possible and to help ensure that, despite everything, each child can remain themselves and still feel like a child.

Work experience

As additional training, I completed a management program and the specializations in pediatric nursing, hematology, high care pediatric nursing and pediatric oncology. After my pediatric specialization, I worked for many years in several academic hospitals in pediatric oncology, pediatric stem cell transplantation and pediatric intensive care.

I joined the Princess Máxima Center with great pleasure in June 2015. In September 2020, I started my training to become a nurse specialist.
