Chicken Skewers with Satay Sauce

Ingredients
500g chicken thighs
For the marinade:
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp sambal oelek
3 tbsp ginger syrup
1 tbsp natural vinegar
1 tsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp ketjap manis (sweet soy sauce)
For the satay sauce:
35g peanut butter
½ tsp sambal oelek
90ml water
2 tbsp sunflower oil
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients for the marinade together.
Cut the chicken thighs into even pieces and stir them through the marinade.
Cover and marinate for 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers or wooden sticks.
Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan and cook the skewers until golden and fully cooked.
For the satay sauce, combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and heat slowly while stirring until smooth and warm.
Tip: Soak wooden skewers in water before using to prevent them from burning during cooking.
Serving suggestion: Delicious with cooked rice and cucumber salad.
Storage Advice: Keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
