Eye test
The purpose of an eye test is to check your child's vision and the condition of your child's eyes. The examination takes 60-90 minutes.
Helping and preparing your child
During treatment, your child will have many tests and procedures. A child life specialist helps your child, and you, prepare for these.
During the test, your child sits in a dimmed room.
The technician uses a light to check whether your child's eyes are straight and has your child name numbers, letters or pictures.
In some instances your child is given eye drops to enlarge the pupils. The technician can then properly examine the interior and the exterior of the eyes.
