Reimbursements and rates
Self-paying rates
If you do not live in the Netherlands, are not insured under the Health Insurance Act, or are unsure about your insurance status, please visit the Dutch government website to check the applicable rules.
In any case, contact the Care Administration Department of the Máxima Center at internationalcare@prinsesmaximacentrum.nl. Together, we will look for options to arrange coverage for the costs of treatment. In that case, the self-paying rate will apply.
You can find the self-paying rates for 2025 here and for 2026 here.
If you are insured abroad, please contact your health insurer, as they usually need advance information about the expected treatment costs.
Seated medical transport for chemotherapy and radiotherapy
If your child comes to the Máxima Center for chemotherapy or radiotherapy, your health insurer will reimburse the transport costs. To qualify for this seated medical transport reimbursement, you must obtain prior authorization from your insurer, which you can request by phone or in writing.
Once your insurer approves the request, they will pay for the transport costs. If you drive yourself, you can receive reimbursement for travel expenses. Whether you receive a full reimbursement depends on your insurance policy, the type of transport, and whether the transport provider has a contract with your insurer.
A statutory personal contribution of up to €113 per calendar year applies.
You can find more information about seated medical transport on your health insurer’s website. If you need help, one of our social workers can assist you.
