What happens when I come to the Máxima Center?

At the start of your treatment, you will almost always stay at the Máxima Center. Later on, you may still need to stay for treatment sometimes. Many medicines and tests happen in the day care unit. That means you can usually go home later the same day. Sometimes, you can even go to a hospital closer to home.

What should you bring to the day care unit?

  • Something to play with, read, listen to, or game on

  • Your medicines for the whole day

  • Tube feeding, if you use it

  • Something to eat and drink. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., you can order from the Kanjerkar.

  • Extra socks and underwear, just in case

What should you bring if you stay overnight?

  • Something to play with, read, listen to, or game on

  • Your school supplies

  • Your medicines for the first day

  • Tube feeding, if you use it

  • Clothes

  • Toiletries

Wristband

When you are in the day care unit or staying overnight, you will always get a wristband. You can take it off when you go home.
