Going home
If you have stayed at the Máxima Center for a while, you have probably often wondered what it would be like to go home again. And then the moment finally comes: you are allowed to go home. That feels good, but it can also be a little exciting.
At the Máxima Center, there was always someone nearby: physicians, nurses, and equipment keeping a close eye on you. At home it is different. You need to get used to a new routine without all that care around you.
That is completely normal. Many children and teenagers find it a bit strange or exciting to be back home at first.
Know that your treatment team at the Máxima Center will only let you go home when they are sure you are doing well. And if something comes up, you can always call. So you are not on your own.

Back home: feelings
When you are back home, you are suddenly less busy with tests or treatments. This can make more room for emotions. That is completely normal.
You may want everything to feel normal again right away, but sometimes that happens step by step.
On the page Feelings you can find tips on dealing with emotions and what can help if you are having a difficult moment.
