Drs. Wendy Lexmond

Together with my husband, I have been co-owner of Topfysiotherapie Waalwijk since 2010. In 2019, I graduated from VUB with a Doctorandus degree in Oncologic Rehabilitation Sciences. I spend 85% of my working hours supporting people who have been diagnosed with cancer. I guide them through all stages of the disease, whether they are about to start medical treatment, have been in treatment for a long time, or have unfortunately completed treatment without further options. Together, we look at each person’s goals, no matter how big or small. I am happy to help them work toward those goals.

Supporting these patients is my passion, and I dedicate myself to it fully. As a result, I no longer work as a general physical therapist. My focus is entirely on oncology. A small part of my time is devoted to supporting people with COPD and ILD.

Within my practice, I work closely with a lymphedema therapist. This collaboration adds significant value for many of the people I support.

At present, I mainly work with young adults, adults, and older adults. My colleague Gitte van Gompel, also a member of KinderOncoNet, is a pediatric physical therapist in our practice. With my expertise in oncologic conditions and rehabilitation and her expertise in pediatric physical therapy, we form a strong team to support younger patients together.
