Science evening: Getting better is more than a cure
Treatment for children with cancer is intended to make them better. But there is more at play than just the disease. The treatment can cause side effects – in the short or long term. And children can experience emotional or social consequences in addition to physical ones. All of this impacts the quality of life. Three experts discuss their research to improve the quality of life for children with cancer.

Three experts will share their research aimed at improving the quality of life for children with cancer. This research aims to reduce treatment side effects and better map late effects, and to provide more targeted support to children and families regarding the psychological consequences of their illness and treatment.
There will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion at this science evening.
