LATER voor LATER symposium

On 21 March, you are welcome to attend the LATER for LATER symposium: a day entirely dedicated to life after childhood cancer. The symposium is organised by the Dutch Childhood Cancer Organisation and the Princess Máxima Centre, and is intended for anyone who has survived childhood cancer, along with their loved ones.

What can you expect?

This event will focus on three key themes that have a significant impact on life after childhood cancer: (coping with) fatigue, (reduced) fertility and the desire to have children, and acquired brain injury (ABI). In addition, three new short documentaries will be screened for the first time. In these personal films, survivors and their loved ones share their experiences relating to these themes. The documentaries were made by filmmaker Annick Sickinghe, who is also a survivor herself.

You will gain information and insights from various perspectives: healthcare, scientific research and the power of personal stories. Following the plenary programme, there will be ample opportunity to meet one another, share experiences with other survivors and loved ones, and ask questions at the information stands run by LATER and the Dutch Childhood Cancer Organisation.

In short: an inspiring and unifying day full of recognition, knowledge and connection.
